After graduating from St. Henry High School, Douglas earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Marketing from Bowling Green State University in 1982.
Douglas has served in many executive roles over the years since graduation including president and CEO of Oreck, president of Mars Petcare, and president of Winchester Division at Olin Corp. During his tenure as president and CEO of Doane Pet Care, the corporation tripled its sales.
Douglas was a prior board member of Jamieson Vitamins, Shoes for Crews, Founders Sport, Boys and Girls Club, and Junior Achievement. Additionally, he was a managing director of CCMP Capital Advisors.
Douglas has worked in the Consumer and Industrial sectors throughout his career. Currently, he serves as chairman, president and CEO of Hillman Group, an industry leader in builder solutions. He also serves on the Board of Vanderbilt University's Owen Graduate School of Management.
Because of his many accomplishments, Douglas has been featured in a cover story on transformational leadership in Fortune Magazine. He was also honored as a speaker to the BGSU graduating class at commencements in 2012.
